ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

INTRODUCTION:

Kathrein Inc., Scala Division develops, manufactures and sells components and systems for use in the field of antenna and communications technology.
Our company’s environmental policy is used (implemented) to reduce environmental pollution resulting from our production processes. Our products are designed and manufactured using metallic raw materials, such as steel, aluminum, copper and brass along with selected types of plastic (synthetic material) to ensure a high degree of recyclability.
Our products’ service lifetimes of over 15 years make an important product-inherent contribution to the protection of the environment. Our use of the above mentioned materials permits a higher recycling rate and therefore easier disposal of products that have served their purpose. Naturally this also helps to reduce overall costs.
In recognition of our moral responsibility towards the environment and protecting it for future generations, our top management has declared increased and systematic protection of the environment to be a company goal.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY:

1. In all company decisions we observe our responsibility towards the environment, above any applicable legal regulations. We are constantly striving to introduce new measures to make improvements for the benefit of environmental protection..

2. We encourage all our employees to act in an environmentally aware manner, both inside and outside the company.

3. We welcome communication with our business partners, employees and community about all matters concerning the protection of the environment.

4. We use material and energy resources in a responsible way and when developing new products we take care to use materials that, even after the end of a product's service-life, will still be re-usable to a great extent.

5. During our production process we strive to keep air and water pollution, as well as the emission of noise and residual materials, to a minimum.

LIMITED WARRANTY

LIMITED WARRANTY:

Kathrein Inc., Scala Division warrants that its products are transferred rightfully and with good title, that its products are free from any lawful security interest or other lien or encumbrance unknown to Buyer. Kathrein Inc., Scala Division warrants its products to be free of defects in workmanship and materials that arise under proper and normal use and service for a period of five years from date of original shipment. Broadcast products and accessories manufactured by Kathrein-Werke KG and sold by Kathrein Inc., Scala Division are covered by the above limited warranty but for a period of one year only. Products manufactured by others are covered only by the warranties, if any, issued by their respective manufacturers and Kathrein Inc., Scala Division assumes no liability or responsibility of any kind for these goods. Damage caused by wind, ice, fire, lightning, improper installation or use, unauthorized disassembly or modifications or repairs, improper handling or any other causes beyond the control of Kathrein Inc., Scala Division are not covered by this limited warranty. In the event that Kathrein Inc., Scala Division determines that defects have occurred, Buyer’s exclusive remedy hereunder is limited to Kathrein Inc., Scala Division’s repair or replacement (either at its plant or at such other place as may be agreed upon between Kathrein Inc., Scala Division and Buyer) of such defects at no cost to Buyer. Transportation costs to Kathrein Inc., Scala Division’s plant or designated facility in connection with the return of products alleged to be defective shall be paid by Buyer. Products supplied as warranty replacements and products repaired under warranty are covered for the balance of the original warranty period or for a period of 90 days after shipment from Kathrein Inc., Scala Division, whichever is longer. KATHREIN INC., SCALA DIVISION MAKES NO WARRANTY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED OTHER THAN AS STATED ABOVE. EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED ARE THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR PURPOSE. THE FOREGOING SHALL CONSTITUTE ALL OF KATHREIN INC., SCALA DIVISION’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY WITH RESPECT TO THE PRODUCTS. IN NO EVENT SHALL KATHREIN INC., SCALA DIVISION BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INSTALLATION COSTS, LOST REVENUE OR PROFITS, OR ANY OTHER COSTS OF ANY NATURE AS A RESULT OF THE USE OF PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED BY THE KATHREIN INC., SCALA DIVISION, WHETHER USED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS OR NOT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL KATHREIN INC., SCALA DIVISION’S LIABILITY TO BUYER UNDER THIS WARRANTY EXCEED THE ACTUAL SALES PRICE OF THE PRODUCTS PROVIDED HEREUNDER. No representative is authorized to assume for Kathrein Inc., Scala Division any other liability in connection with the products.
